Naz - elder on loan until the end of season, and terry insisted on a 'no recall' clause

Morning all. If we cast our minds back to last year when we were relying on a crocked DK to get us through games, it's pretty obvious why we're playing Elder a lot. For less physical games (which FGR certainly wasn't), I expect Main to start again. Personally, I'm glad we're able to rotate the squad...

Feel a bit sorry for Rapson, but this IMO is why we need our reserves playing at the highest level - you could put him in them and he'd be playing against some decent opponents

Naz - Well said. I like Main & Kedwell up front. Nothing against Elder who has been good but Main & Kedwell works. As for tonights game I am disappointed we agreed to the £10 entrance fee

Lloydy... Elder has done OK. Nothing wrong with him. But he is temporary, on loan, presumably could be recalled any time - here today, gone tomorrow. And I find it a bit much having a continuing stream of loan players parachuted into the first team. I haven't seen Rapson play, but while Elder is here maybe the young lad could gain from Elder's experience in a #2 strikeforce - starting in games like tonight. And and use them on the bench for the bigger games - Elder could work well in the last 20 minutes if we need to rough up a stubborn defence. Main and Kedwell, however, are on contract, work very well together - the total is greater then the sum of the parts. They are a proven goalscoring duo - is it 30 goals between them so far this season? And that's with Main getting subbed or sitting on the bench a lot. Their goals per minute are probably about the same as each other, but it doesn't really matter who scroes them. By and large I think they should start most big games together. I sometimes wonder if Brown doesn't like Main for some reason, but for me, just like Kedwell, he's a great servant to the club and a great player - in fact, Main's getting better as he seems to have bulked up a bit.

Reading back, Collette questioned how FGR could fund a FT squad and pay for all their stewards, match-day staff etc. The answer may (partly at least) be that they have wonderful Conference, hospitality areas, bars etc. that are also used on non-match-days. The best I have seen at this level.

Mal, SW16 Girl, oft of this parish is a solicitor - or a judge - or can at least point you in the right direction. She's probably a bit busy with the Palace shenanigans though atm. Check her tag - it might have her email - something with "strange but" in it I seem to recall! :o)

Tooting had a league game on Sat and got a crowd of 212 so anything above 250 would be good for them

Tooting have really missed a trick here. I would be staggered if the gate tonight is more than about 250, paying £10 a head. At £5 a head I think 600+ would have turned out. Add in the extra food/drink/programme sales...

I'm thinking of going tonight purely to see Jon Main playing on a pitch. Hopefully for the whole match. I enjoy seeing him play and I enjoy seeing him score goals. In bigger games, Main + Kedwell should be TB's first choice strike force.

Grazy - I'm not a member of the DT, never have been. However, I can read, observe and judge who, IMO, are the better candidates. I have no friends standing in this election therefore my opinion is based on what I've read and observed around KM (and away) having seen some of these people in the flesh. The reason I'm not a member of the DT is because I do not and have not felt strongly enough about anything discussed so far to warrant joining. This election is no different. At the moment, the DT to me is nothing more than a £25 donation to the club for which you get a plastic card with your name on in return.
